I tried film. I used slides because that was what was in the camera a friend had loaned me. I found out later that it’s not the best for skin and very difficult to expose properly. In fact, the lab guy said his photography instructor insisted they all learn exposure with slides because it’s got to be dead on! I used manual focus because, well… I’m insane! I was pleased to see that most were exposed correctly, but about half were softly focused. (duh, Jenna! Manual focus with small children as subjects was a poor choice. I just don’t know what I was thinking except, “Let’s reeeaaally make it challenging, shall we?”
I bought a roll of Portra 400 for my next try. This time, I’ll actually try to focus on composition, lighting and creativity, since the first experiment was just to see if I could get an accurate exposure. I’m excited about learning, and boy do I have A LOT to learn!
These are all SOOC- no adjustments made. They aren’t amazing, but they’re meaningful since they’re the beginning of my film journey.

Now I want to go shoot some film too! These have such a different feel than your other work…but it is still you. I like them
We should make it a date!
